Out and about in Ontario

Today we travelled down to Petrolia not far from Sarnia
and discovered a real live working oil field
with lots of history and artifacts which you will find really interesting.

Carrying the title "The Petrolia Discovery"
this historic oil field  actually covers approximately 60 acres
with  many both outdoor and indoor exhibits as well as a short film
which you can watch.

Our excellent volunteer guide Carolyn Gould gave us a truly amazing tour of this
historic site, and also told us of its history, including the  fact that it has a wheel
which is possibly the largest in Canada and keeps all of the field working.

You really don't want to miss this amazing site this summer.
It is well worth the drive.

Why not go and check it out?
There are also some wonderful picnic spots nearby
and a stroll through the town of Petrolia is also a highlight of your day
.
